Aramine has been a leading player in underground mining for over 50 years, designing and manufacturing innovative equipment that supports more responsible mining operations. A specialist in narrow-vein mining, the company is a pioneer in battery-powered machinery, with recognized electric loaders such as the L140B (1.3 t) and the L440B (4.8 t).
Several Aramine machines are currently operating at the NORCAT Underground Centre, including an L440B loader that will be showcased during the event.
In addition to its equipment, Aramine offers one of the industry’s most extensive spare parts and components ranges under its SmartParts® program. This expertise is complemented by global on-site services, including audits, training, maintenance, commissioning, and machine remanufacturing, extending equipment life cycles.
A family-owned company based in Aix-en-Provence, France, Aramine operates in 88 countries and has three international subsidiaries.
Aramine is a pioneer in battery-powered underground mining equipment. As early as 2016, the company introduced the L140B loader, with a 1.3-ton capacity and a 42 kWh battery pack, along with a unique charging concept called the Quick Replacement System (QRS). In this design, the rear of the machine—known as the energy module—is fully detachable and contains both the batteries and the charger. This allows batteries to be recharged near any available power source, without requiring fixed charging infrastructure inside the mine.
Ten years later, this successful concept led to the launch of the L440B loader, with a 4.8-ton capacity and a 224 kWh battery pack, one unit of which is currently operating at the NORCAT Underground Center. It uses the same QRS system as the L140B, making adoption easier for mines since no specific installation is required. Aramine now also offers the L640B loader (6.2-ton capacity) and its first battery-powered truck, the T1401B (14-ton capacity), further expanding its electric equipment range.
