As we prepare for Mining Transformed 2026 (May 25 to 27, 2026, Greater Sudbury, Ontario), we want to ensure all exhibitors, sponsors and attendees are aware of potentially fraudulent activity that has affected events similar to Mining Transformed in the past. These scams are common across the global events industry, and none of these offers are legitimate.

Common tactics for event-centered fraudulent activity include:

• Fake hotel bookings
• Attendee or exhibitor lists for sale
• Unsolicited booth sales or upgrades
• Sponsorship or marketing opportunities offered outside official channels

These individuals and companies are not affiliated with Mining Transformed, NORCAT or CIM. Please do not engage with them or purchase services outside of the official links found on this website. NORCAT does not sell attendee lists or share registration data with external vendors.

Common Scam Tactics

Fraudulent emails, calls, or texts may:

• Use Mining Transformed, NORCAT or CIM branding to appear legitimate
• Reference real exhibitor names, booth numbers or information available online
• Create sender addresses that look similar to official domains
• Pressure you into immediate payment or "exclusive deals"

NORCAT and CIM do not have any partnerships with outside organizations for marketing or sales. Anyone contacting you with unsolicited offers or using high pressure tactics is not a representative of NORCAT or the Mining Transformed event. All official communications will come directly from our team.

Official Service Providers

To protect our community, only the following providers are authorized to work with Mining Transformed 2026 guests, exhibitors and sponsors:

• Hotel bookings – only through official booking links on our website

If you are approached by any other company offering these or any other services, they are not authorized representatives of NORCAT or Mining Transformed. NORCAT does not work with external list brokers, hotel resellers, or third-party marketing agencies.

How to Protect Yourself

• Book hotels only through official Mining Transformed links
• Verify suspicious emails or calls with our team before acting - call NORCAT at 705-521-8324 to confirm
• Do not purchase attendee lists. These are always fraudulent
• Report fraudulent activity to the Government of Canada's Spam Reporting Centre by forwarding the suspicious message to spam@fightspam.gc.ca
