Technology

Ericsson will be showcasing our Private 5G network which is already installed. The Roger's server room has the core and the radios are installed on the ceiling. Ericsson Private 5G is Ericsson’s next-generation private network solution, providing secure and reliable 4G and 5G connectivity through its single server dual mode core. Built for business-critical operations, the solution comes pre-integrated to ensure rapid time to service, delivering advanced and intelligent operations in any environment, all while keeping sensitive data secured on site.

Ericsson will also showcase its ruggedized Cradlepoint cellular endpoints that provide an always-on, dual-radio, active/active cellular connectivity to the mission-critical telemetry and remote-control applications running in the harsh mining environment. The Cradlepoint devices bridge legacy WiFi, Bluetooth and Ethernet-enabled clients to the reliable, high-performance and low latency Private 5G network.

At the edge of the private cellular network, Ericsson Cradlepoint enterprise routers and outdoor cellular adapters attach to the macro Rogers cellular and the non-terrestrial Satellite-to-Mobile networks outside the mine to provide resilient internet backhaul to the private cellular network to enable secure remote monitoring and management of the private cellular network as well as the cellular endpoints onboard the moving machinery and throughout the mine.
