About Turnkey Communications

Turnkey Communications is a Canadian systems integrator specializing in mission-critical connectivity for complex and harsh mining environments. With more than 30 years of experience delivering communications infrastructure across underground, remote, and high-risk operations, Turnkey designs, builds, and supports secure digital networks that enable modern mining—from automation and safety systems to real-time data, voice, and video communications.

Our capabilities span private LTE/5G networks, fiber and wired systems, physical security technologies, industrial IoT sensor networks, and operational technology integration—purpose-built for the realities of underground and surface mining. Turnkey works closely with mine operators, OEMs, and technology partners to ensure reliable performance, scalability, and long-term operability across the full mine lifecycle.

At Mining Transformed 2026, Turnkey will demonstrate how integrated communications infrastructure supports safer operations, improved productivity, and the digital transformation of mining.

Technology

Turnkey Communications will use its Mobile Communications Lab as a fully functional booth, demonstrating a live, end-to-end private cellular network for mining environments.

The Mobile Lab is a ruggedized, self-contained platform that replicates a real-world mine communications deployment. Inside the unit, Turnkey will showcase a live private LTE network (5G-ready) delivering secure voice and data connectivity suitable for underground, surface, and remote mining operations.

Attendees will experience the network operating in real time, including device connectivity, traffic management, and edge processing, demonstrating how private cellular infrastructure enables personnel communications, operational visibility, safety systems, and digital mine applications.

What is being demonstrated:

  • Live private LTE/5G-ready network operating within the Mobile Lab
  • Secure voice and data connectivity using industrial handheld devices
  • Edge compute and network management capabilities
  • Integration pathways for mining OT systems, sensors, and automation platforms
  • Rapid-deployment scenarios for exploration, pilot projects, and temporary or remote mine sites

Core components inside the Mobile Lab include:

  • Ruggedized private cellular core
  • Industrial-grade radios and small cells
  • Edge compute and network management hardware
  • Fiber, Ethernet, and power distribution systems
  • Industrial end-user devices for live demonstrations

Operational requirements:

  • Electrical power connection for the Mobile Lab
  • Adequate space and access for the mobile unit footprint
  • No external internet required (closed-loop demo environment)
  • No special ventilation, cooling, or hazardous materials handling required

The Mobile Lab provides a realistic, field-ready view of how mission-critical connectivity is designed, deployed, and operated in modern mining environments.
