Technology

Velavu's real-time asset tracking solution delivers near-real-time location visibility for underground mining operations. The system consists of wireless anchors installed on drift walls, forming a self-contained mesh network that automatically locates asset tags throughout the mine. All communication happens within the network itself — only the gateway requires an internet connection to sync data to the cloud. Tag devices mounted on assets such as vehicles, equipment, and hardhats are located automatically as they move through the mesh, eliminating the need to send personnel underground for manual equipment logs. This reduces search time, minimizes downtime, and gives operations managers the information they need to make faster, better-informed decisions that improve overall productivity.
