MVS was spun out of Carnegie Mellon University and the National Robotics Engineering Center in 2015. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we deliver technology solutions for the mining industry. We have invented a real-time underground GPS platform and began shipping our first product, FaceCapture, in August 2023. Collectively we have over 100 person-years of experience in mining, geology, perception systems and autonomy. Our technology has delivered results in nearly 75 customer engagements since our founding.
At Mine Vision Systems, our mission is to spearhead the digital transformation of underground mining through advanced perception solutions. For too long, critical operational decisions have been made without real-time visibility into rock conditions. Our technology changes that. Leveraging innovations in sensors, optics and data analytics, our flagship FaceCapture™ mapping system provides accurate, high-resolution 3D visualization of the mine face. This enables data-driven optimization of key activities like drilling, blasting, haulage and processing. By delivering a digital foundation, we aim to enable a step-change for the industry - supporting remote operations, automation, AI-based planning and more. Our team brings decades of interdisciplinary expertise across mining environments, robotics, geospatial analytics and complex software systems.
